How to Pay PNB Credit Card Bill via Net Banking
Punjab National Bank offers a comprehensive internet banking portal — PNB One Net Banking — that allows customers to manage savings accounts, fixed deposits, loans, and credit card services from a single authenticated login. For PNB credit card holders who also maintain a PNB savings or current account, the net banking portal provides the most integrated payment experience — with real-time access to the card's outstanding balance, same-bank transfer speed, and a clear transaction confirmation trail.
This guide provides a detailed walkthrough of paying a PNB credit card bill through the PNB net banking portal, covering registration requirements, navigation, payment steps, and what to do if a payment does not reflect as expected.
Before you begin: PNB net banking registration
To pay your PNB credit card bill through net banking, you need an active PNB internet banking account. If you have not registered, visit the official PNB website and complete the net banking registration using your PNB Customer ID, registered mobile number, and debit card details. During registration, you will create a User ID and a login password, and may also be asked to set a transaction password for authorising payments.
PNB credit card holders who also hold a PNB savings account will typically find their credit card linked to the same Customer ID and visible in the net banking dashboard after registration. If the credit card does not appear, contact PNB customer care to have it linked to your existing net banking profile.
For PNB credit card holders whose savings account is with a different bank, the PNB net banking portal may still be accessible for credit card-specific management, though the direct same-bank payment route described in this guide applies primarily to those with a PNB savings account as the source of funds.
Step one: logging into PNB net banking
Open your preferred web browser and navigate to the official Punjab National Bank website. Locate the net banking login option — prominently displayed on the homepage or accessible through the top navigation under internet banking. Click it to open the PNB net banking login page.
Enter your User ID and login password. Complete any captcha verification if prompted. PNB's net banking portal typically sends an OTP to your registered mobile number as a two-factor authentication step, particularly for logins from new devices or browsers. Enter the OTP when prompted to complete the login.
On successful authentication, you access the PNB net banking dashboard, which displays your linked accounts including savings accounts, fixed deposits, and credit cards, along with their current balances and key details.
Step two: navigating to the credit card section
From the PNB net banking dashboard, look for the Credit Card section in the navigation menu — typically found in the top navigation bar or the left-hand sidebar. The label may be Credit Cards, Cards, or Card Services depending on the current portal layout. Click on it to access the credit card services menu.
Your linked PNB credit card will be listed, showing the last four digits, current outstanding balance, available credit limit, minimum amount due, and payment due date. Select your credit card by clicking on it to open the card detail page.
From the card detail page, locate the Pay Bill, Make Payment, or Credit Card Bill Payment option and click it to open the payment initiation screen.
Step three: selecting the payment amount
The payment screen displays the total amount due, the minimum amount due, and the payment due date. Payment amount options typically include the total amount due, the minimum amount due, last statement balance, and a custom amount field.
For complete financial protection — no interest charges, no loss of the interest-free grace period, and positive credit score impact — always select the total amount due. If cash flow constraints make full payment difficult this month, enter a custom amount above the minimum, keeping in mind that any balance left unpaid after the due date will attract the full revolving interest rate applicable to your PNB credit card, and the grace period on new purchases will be suspended until the full outstanding balance is cleared.
Step four: choosing the source account
After selecting the payment amount, choose the PNB savings or current account from which the payment will be debited. Your linked PNB accounts are listed with their account numbers and available balances. Select the account with sufficient funds to cover the payment.
For PNB credit card holders with a linked PNB savings account, this is a same-bank internal transfer — the fastest posting route, often reflecting on the card account within hours or even minutes after the transaction is confirmed.
Step five: reviewing and authenticating the payment
A payment summary screen shows the credit card number — typically last four digits — the payment amount, the debit account, and the transaction date. Review all details carefully to confirm accuracy before proceeding.
Click Confirm or Submit to proceed to authentication. PNB net banking requires a second authentication step — typically an OTP sent to your registered mobile number, or a transaction password — to authorise the payment. Enter the OTP or transaction password when prompted.
On successful processing, the portal displays a payment confirmation screen showing the transaction reference number, the payment amount, the source account, and the timestamp. Screenshot this confirmation screen or note the transaction reference number — this is your official proof of payment. A payment confirmation SMS is also sent to your registered mobile number.
How long does the payment take to reflect on the PNB credit card?
For same-bank payments from a PNB savings account to a PNB credit card through the net banking portal, the payment typically reflects on the card account within a few hours — and in many cases within minutes — because no inter-bank transfer is required. It is an internal accounting entry within PNB's systems, which processes faster than any external payment route.
For any payments made through external methods on the portal — such as UPI from a linked external bank account, if this option is available — the reflection time follows the standard one to two working day timeline for inter-bank payments.
If the payment has not reflected after one working day for same-bank payments or two working days for external payments, confirm the debit on the source bank account and contact PNB credit card customer care with the transaction reference number. The team can trace the payment and apply it manually if it was received but not auto-posted.
Setting up standing instructions through PNB net banking
PNB's net banking portal may include a standing instruction or auto-pay facility within the credit card management section. If available, navigate to the credit card section, find the standing instruction or ECS mandate option, and link your PNB savings account as the debit source. Choose the payment amount type — total amount due is recommended — and the payment will execute automatically each month on or before the due date.
Once auto-pay is configured, verify the first execution by checking the PNB savings account statement on the expected debit date. Auto-pay through the bank's own net banking portal typically posts faster than externally initiated auto-pay mandates.
Paying PNB credit card via NEFT from a different bank
For PNB credit card holders whose savings account is with another bank, the alternative to PNB net banking is to add the PNB credit card as an NEFT beneficiary in the other bank's net banking portal. Use the NEFT IFSC code designated by PNB for credit card payments and your credit card number as the account number — both available on PNB's official website or from PNB customer care. Once the beneficiary is activated, NEFT transfers can be initiated from the other bank's portal with reflection typically within one to two working days.
For faster cross-bank payment, UPI through any major payment app — such as Google Pay or PhonePe — with PNB Credit Card listed as a BBPS biller is the simplest and most widely accessible alternative.
Viewing payment history in PNB net banking
All payments made through the PNB net banking portal are recorded in the transaction history section of the credit card account. Navigate to the credit card section, select your card, and access the transaction history or account statement view to see all past payments with their reference numbers, amounts, and posting dates. This record is useful for personal financial reconciliation and for retrieving references in case of any payment query or dispute.
