How to Pay ICICI Credit Card Bill via iMobile Pay App
iMobile Pay is ICICI Bank's flagship mobile banking application, available on both Android and iOS. It is used by millions of ICICI Bank customers for a wide range of banking activities — account management, fund transfers, investments, and credit card services. For ICICI credit card holders, iMobile Pay offers the most integrated and up-to-date bill payment experience because it connects directly to ICICI Bank's core systems, ensuring that your outstanding balance, payment history, and reward points are always accurately reflected.
This tutorial walks through every step of paying your ICICI credit card bill through iMobile Pay, from opening the app to confirming that the payment has been successfully credited to your card account.
Before you begin: what you need
To pay your ICICI credit card bill through iMobile Pay, you need the app installed on your registered mobile number — the number linked to your ICICI Bank account. The app requires biometric authentication or a six-digit MPIN for login. Your ICICI credit card should already be linked to your iMobile Pay account, which happens automatically when the app is set up if the card is issued under the same customer ID as your savings or current account.
If your ICICI credit card was obtained separately — for instance, if your savings account is with a different bank and you have only an ICICI credit card — you can still use iMobile Pay after completing the credit card-specific registration. Download the app, register using your credit card number and registered mobile number, and set up your MPIN.
Step one: open and log in to iMobile Pay
Launch the iMobile Pay app on your smartphone. Authenticate using your fingerprint, Face ID, or six-digit MPIN as prompted. The app will open to the home dashboard, which shows your linked accounts, recent transactions, and quick-access services.
Step two: navigate to the credit card section
From the home screen, locate the Cards section — this may appear as a dedicated tab or as a card widget displaying your credit card details. Tap on your ICICI credit card to open the card management page. This page shows your current outstanding balance, available credit limit, recent transactions, reward points, and payment options.
Alternatively, from the home screen you can use the quick-pay option or search for credit card bill payment in the app's search or shortcut menu, which takes you directly to the payment screen without navigating through the card management section.
Step three: select the payment option
Within the credit card management screen, tap the Pay Bill or Pay Now button. This opens the payment screen for your ICICI credit card. The screen will display key figures: the total amount due, the minimum amount due, the last statement amount, and the payment due date.
You will be prompted to choose the payment amount. iMobile Pay typically offers preset options — total amount due, minimum amount due, and last statement balance — as well as a custom amount field where you can enter any figure of your choice. For the best financial outcome, select the total amount due to avoid interest charges and preserve your interest-free grace period.
Step four: choose your payment source
After selecting the payment amount, choose the source account from which the payment will be debited. iMobile Pay will display your linked ICICI Bank savings and current accounts. If you have multiple ICICI accounts, select the one with sufficient balance. The available balance for each account is typically displayed alongside the account number to help you make the right selection.
For ICICI credit card holders whose savings account is with another bank, the payment can also be initiated via UPI within iMobile Pay using a linked external bank account UPI handle. Select the UPI option and choose the registered external account if this applies to your situation.
Step five: review and confirm the payment
Before submitting the payment, a summary screen appears showing the credit card number — typically the last four digits — the payment amount, the source account, and the expected debit date. Review all details carefully. Confirm that the card number displayed matches your card and that the payment amount is correct.
Tap Confirm or Proceed to authenticate the payment. For account-to-account transfers within ICICI Bank, authentication is typically completed using your MPIN or biometric. For UPI-based payments from an external account, your UPI PIN will be required.
Step six: save the confirmation details
Once the payment is processed, iMobile Pay displays a payment confirmation screen showing the transaction reference number, the amount paid, the source account, and the date and time of the transaction. Screenshot this confirmation or note down the transaction reference number. This reference is your proof of payment and will be required if you ever need to follow up on the transaction.
A confirmation SMS is also sent to your registered mobile number, and the transaction appears in the app's transaction history for future reference.
How long does the payment take to reflect on your ICICI credit card?
Payments made from an ICICI Bank savings account to an ICICI credit card through iMobile Pay are typically reflected on the card account within a few hours, and in many cases almost instantly, because both the source and destination are within the same bank's systems. Payments made via UPI from an external bank account follow the standard UPI timeline and generally reflect within one to two working days.
If the payment has not reflected on your card account within two working days, check your bank account statement to confirm the debit occurred. If debited but not reflected, contact ICICI Bank customer care with the transaction reference number.
Setting up auto-pay through iMobile Pay
For cardholders who want to automate their monthly ICICI credit card bill payment, iMobile Pay offers an auto-pay or standing instruction feature within the credit card section. Navigate to your credit card in the app, find the auto-pay or ECS mandate option, and follow the prompts to link your ICICI savings account and select the payment amount type — total amount due, minimum amount due, or a fixed sum.
Setting auto-pay to the total amount due through iMobile Pay is the most comprehensive protection against missed payments. Once active, the full outstanding balance is debited automatically each month without any manual intervention. Ensure that the linked savings account maintains sufficient balance ahead of the monthly auto-debit date.
Viewing your payment history in iMobile Pay
All credit card bill payments made through iMobile Pay are recorded in the transaction history section of the app, accessible from both the home dashboard and the credit card management screen. Payments are displayed with the date, amount, source account, and transaction reference number. This history is useful for reconciling your credit card account and for providing payment proof if required.
What to do if the payment fails within iMobile Pay
If a payment initiated through iMobile Pay fails — due to insufficient balance, session timeout, or a technical error — the app will display an error message or a failed transaction status. In most cases, if any amount was debited during the failed transaction, it is automatically reversed within two to three working days. Do not initiate a second payment until you have confirmed whether the first payment was debited from your account. If debited but not reversed within three working days, raise a dispute through the app's Help or Support section, or contact ICICI Bank customer care.
