How to Pay Federal Bank Credit Card Bill via FedMobile
FedMobile is the official mobile banking application of Federal Bank, available on both Android and iOS platforms. It provides Federal Bank customers with access to their savings accounts, fixed deposits, loans, and credit card services from a single authenticated interface. For Federal Bank credit card holders, FedMobile is the most integrated payment channel because it connects directly to the bank's core systems — meaning outstanding balances are always current, payment posting is faster, and the card management features are purpose-built for Federal Bank's product range.
This tutorial walks through the complete process of paying a Federal Bank credit card bill through FedMobile, from opening the app to confirming that the payment has been successfully applied.
Before you begin: FedMobile registration
To use FedMobile for credit card bill payment, the app must be installed and registered on your smartphone. Download FedMobile from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. If you have not registered previously, open the app and complete the registration process using your Federal Bank Customer ID or registered mobile number, your debit card details for verification, and a new MPIN of your choice. The MPIN is the primary authentication method for accessing FedMobile and authorising transactions.
If your Federal Bank credit card is linked to the same Customer ID as your Federal Bank savings account, it will appear in your FedMobile dashboard automatically after registration. If the credit card is under a separate profile, contact Federal Bank customer care to have it linked to your existing customer profile for unified access through FedMobile.
Step one: opening FedMobile and logging in
Launch the FedMobile app on your smartphone. Enter your MPIN when prompted. Biometric authentication — fingerprint or face unlock — may also be available depending on your device and the MPIN settings you have configured. Upon successful authentication, you are on the FedMobile home screen, which displays your linked accounts including savings accounts and credit cards with their key balances.
Step two: navigating to your Federal Bank credit card
From the home screen, locate the Credit Cards section. Depending on the version of FedMobile you are using, this may be displayed as a card widget on the home screen showing your credit card's current outstanding balance and available limit, or it may be accessible through the navigation menu under Cards or Credit Card Services.
Tap on your Federal Bank credit card to open the card detail screen. This screen shows your current outstanding balance, minimum amount due, payment due date, available credit limit, and recent transactions. All of this information is pulled directly from Federal Bank's core banking system, ensuring it is up to date.
Step three: selecting the pay bill option
From the credit card detail screen, tap the Pay Bill, Make Payment, or Credit Card Payment button. This opens the payment initiation screen.
The payment screen displays the total amount due and the minimum amount due, along with a custom amount field. For complete protection against interest charges and to preserve your interest-free grace period on future purchases, select the total amount due. If you are making a partial payment for any reason, enter the custom amount — but be aware that any balance left unpaid will attract interest at the full annual card rate.
Step four: selecting the source account
After confirming the payment amount, select the source account from which the payment will be debited. FedMobile displays your linked Federal Bank savings and current accounts with their available balances. Select the account with sufficient funds to cover the payment.
For Federal Bank credit card holders who also hold a Federal Bank savings account, this is a direct same-bank internal transfer — the fastest and most seamlessly integrated payment route available. No inter-bank clearing is required, and the payment typically reflects on the card account within a few hours.
Step five: reviewing and authenticating the payment
A payment summary screen displays before the final confirmation. This screen shows the credit card number — typically last four digits — the payment amount, the debit account, and the transaction date. Verify all details carefully before proceeding.
Tap Confirm or Proceed to authenticate the payment. FedMobile will prompt you to enter your MPIN or use biometric authentication to authorise the transaction. Enter the MPIN when prompted.
Upon successful processing, FedMobile displays a payment confirmation screen with the transaction reference number, the amount paid, the debit account, and the timestamp. Screenshot this screen or note the transaction reference number — this is your proof of payment and will be needed if any follow-up is required. A confirmation SMS is also sent to your registered mobile number.
How long does the payment take to reflect?
For same-bank payments from a Federal Bank savings account to a Federal Bank credit card through FedMobile, the payment typically reflects on the card account within a few hours — in many cases within minutes — because it is an internal transfer within Federal Bank's systems. The card's outstanding balance decreases and the available credit limit increases correspondingly once the payment is applied.
For Federal Bank credit card holders who fund the payment through FedMobile's UPI feature — using an external bank account linked to their UPI handle — the reflection time is typically one to two working days, consistent with standard inter-bank UPI processing.
If the payment has not reflected within one working day for same-bank payments or two working days for UPI-funded payments, contact Federal Bank customer care through FedMobile's support section or the bank's helpline, providing the transaction reference number.
Setting up auto-pay through FedMobile
FedMobile offers a standing instruction or auto-pay feature for credit card bill payments. To set this up, navigate to the credit card management section within the app and look for the standing instruction, auto-pay, or recurring payment option. Link your Federal Bank savings account and choose the payment amount type — total amount due, minimum amount due, or a fixed custom amount.
Setting the auto-pay to the total amount due is the most effective option — it ensures the full outstanding balance is automatically cleared from your savings account each month on or before the due date, without any manual action required. This eliminates the risk of forgetting to pay and the resulting late fees and interest charges.
After setting up the standing instruction, verify the first auto-debit execution by checking your savings account statement on or around the next due date.
Paying Federal Bank credit card bill via FedMobile when the savings account is with another bank
FedMobile also supports UPI-based payments, allowing Federal Bank credit card holders to fund bill payments from a non-Federal Bank savings account through a linked UPI handle. Navigate to the credit card payment section and select UPI as the payment method. Enter or select the UPI ID linked to your external bank account, enter the payment amount, and authenticate with your UPI PIN.
This cross-bank UPI payment through FedMobile provides Federal Bank credit card holders who maintain their primary savings elsewhere with a native app experience rather than requiring them to use a third-party platform.
Viewing payment history in FedMobile
All payments made through FedMobile are recorded in the credit card account's transaction history, accessible from the card detail screen within the app. Payment entries appear as credits in the transaction list with their reference numbers, amounts, and dates. This history is useful for personal record-keeping and for retrieving transaction references when following up on a query.
