How to Pay Canara Bank Card Bill via Other Banks

A significant number of Canara Bank credit card holders maintain their primary savings account with a different bank — SBI, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, or any other institution. Paying a Canara Bank credit card bill from one of these other banks is fully supported through two reliable routes: the BBPS biller addition method through any internet banking portal or UPI app, and the NEFT beneficiary method through net banking.

Method one: adding Canara Bank as a BBPS biller in another bank's net banking

Most major Indian banks' internet banking portals support BBPS-based credit card bill payment. This allows customers to add Canara Bank Credit Card as a registered biller and pay directly from their savings account within the other bank's portal.

Log into your primary bank's net banking portal — for example, SBI net banking, HDFC NetBanking, or ICICI Bank net banking. Navigate to the Bill Payments or Pay Bills section. Select Credit Card as the biller category and search for Canara Bank from the list of supported billers. Enter your Canara Bank credit card number and confirm the biller registration. Once activated — typically within a few minutes to a few hours — select the biller for payment, enter the total amount due, and authenticate. A BBPS acknowledgement number is generated as proof.

This method saves the Canara Bank card as a permanent biller for future monthly payments, making each subsequent payment quick — select the saved biller, confirm the amount, authenticate, done.

Method two: UPI through any major payment app

For cardholders who prefer a mobile-first approach, UPI through any major payment app is the simplest cross-bank route. Open Google Pay, PhonePe, Amazon Pay, or Paytm. Navigate to the bill payment or credit card payment section. Select Canara Bank from the credit card biller list, enter the credit card number, fetch the outstanding balance, select the total amount due, and pay via UPI from any linked bank account.

UPI payments are free of platform charges for credit card bill payment and generate a BBPS acknowledgement instantly. The payment typically reflects on the Canara Bank credit card account within one to two working days.

Method three: NEFT from another bank's net banking

For cardholders who prefer a direct bank-to-bank transfer without BBPS routing, the NEFT beneficiary method is reliable. Add the Canara Bank credit card as an NEFT beneficiary in the other bank's net banking using Canara Bank's designated NEFT IFSC code for credit card payments and the sixteen-digit credit card number as the beneficiary account number.

The NEFT IFSC code and exact beneficiary format for Canara Bank credit card payments are available on the Canara Bank official website or from Canara Bank customer care. Always verify from an official source. Once the beneficiary is activated — usually after a thirty-minute to four-hour waiting period — initiate the NEFT transfer. Payment reflects within one to two working days.

NEFT has no upper transaction limit, making it the preferred method for large credit card bills that may exceed UPI's per-transaction cap.

Paying Canara Bank credit card from SBI: specific note

SBI's net banking — both retail and corporate — supports BBPS-based bill payment. SBI customers can add Canara Bank Credit Card as a biller in the Bill Payment section of OnlineSBI or YONO and pay directly from their SBI savings account. The BBPS biller addition takes a few minutes and the payment reflects within one to two working days.

Processing time for cross-bank payments

For BBPS-routed payments from another bank's net banking or UPI apps, the standard reflection timeline is one to two working days from payment initiation. Payments made during active banking hours on working days typically reflect at the faster end of this range. If the payment has not reflected after two working days, use the BBPS acknowledgement number to contact Canara Bank credit card customer care.
